Here’s a recipe I picked up recently. This recipe contains Chia Seeds, which packs a powerful nutritional punch. Each tablespoon of Chia Seeds has 5 grams of fiber, 2.2 grams of omega-3 fatty acids (the “good fat”), and 5 grams of protein. Mixed together with tasty ingredients like sesame seeds, shredded coconut, dried cranberries, it makes a tasty and nutritious snack or breakfast food.
Top off with a half cup of almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk, and voila! You have a healthy and filling way to start the day off right, packed with protein and fiber to tide you over until lunch time!
2 Tbsp Chia Seeds (try Bob’s Red Mill)
1 Tbsp Roasted Sesame Seeds
1 Tbsp Shredded Coconut
1 Tbsp dried Cranberries, Dates, Raisins or Currants
2 Tbsp of chopped whole Walnuts, Pecans, or Almonds (I like pecans!)
